Cabinet Sales Decrease 12.5% in September 2007

RESTON, VA — According to participating members in the Kitchen Cabinet Manufacturers Assn.’s (KCMA) monthly Trend of Business Survey, cabinet sales for September 2007 decreased 12.5% compared to September 2006. In addition, stock cabinet sales decreased 20.7%, semi-custom sales decreased 3.6% and custom sales decreased 5.5%. 

The year-to-date sales show a decrease of 12.9%, with stock sales down 20.4%, semi-custom sales down 5.3% and custom sales down 4.4%.

Survey participants include stock, semi-custom and custom companies whose combined sales represent over 50% of the United States cabinet market. The KCMA is a major trade association for manufacturers of kitchen cabinets and bath vanities, and suppliers of goods and services to the industry. Sixty-three percent of KCMA cabinet manufacturer members report sales under $10 million annually.
