Ashley Furniture to invest $65 million in new Texas plant

MESQUITE, Texas – Ashley Furniture Industries announced that it will open a new facility in Mesquite, Texas, adding 350 full-time jobs.

Approximately $65 million will be invested in building a 850,000 square-foot south central distribution and fulfillment center on a 358-acre tract of land in the eastern portion of Mesquite .

“The City of Mesquite has embraced our company and has proven to be a business friendly environment with a strong workforce, allowing ample opportunity for growth,” said Todd Wanek, President and CEO of Ashley Furniture Industries. “As a customer-centric company, the investment to build in Mesquite is one we feel will result in improved efficiencies to better serve our world-wide customers.”

The agreement also encourages Ashley Furniture Industries, Inc. to make future investments in Mesquite by significantly increasing the size of the contemplated facility and the number of local jobs.
