BALTIC, Ohio - Ohio-based custom cabinetmaker Schlabach Wood Design will invest $3.8 million in machinery and shop upgrades. 57 new jobs will be created.
“Sales for our custom-made hardwoods cabinets for home and office have tripled over the past eight years through our national network of dealers as demand for quality hardwoods cabinets has increased,” said company president Willis Schlabach. “As the company has grown, we have been blessed to add co-workers into the business who share our passion for hard work and attention to detail that is inherent in the craftsmanship of our products.”
New machinery and equipment will allow the company to expand its kitchen and bathroom product lines - which are both seeing increased demand.
A $200,000 grant from JobsOhio made the expansion possible. The Ohio Southeast Economic Development also assisted.
“We are very appreciative of the support of JobsOhio, Ohio Southeast Economic Development (OhioSE), the Coshocton County Port Authority, the Coshocton County Commissioners and Crawford Township in providing their expertise and a financial grant to make this expansion project a reality,” said Schlabach.
Schlabach Wood Design was established in 1994 with a focus on combining quality materials, craftsmanship, and a solid work ethic. The company is a family-owned, custom cabinet company located in the heart of Amish country in Ohio. Schlabach Wood Design cabinets are built entirely by Amish craftsmen who design, build and install custom cabinetry forhomes.
