PISCATAWY, NJ – American Standard Cos. has agreed to sell its bath and kitchen products business to private investment firm, Bain Capital for $1.76 billion. The sale is the final part of American Standard’s decision to split into three companies. Earlier this year, Standard sold its Venesta Washroom Systems business in the United Kingdom to RS Building Product for $165 million. The results of the sales will leave American Standard with its largest business, air conditioning systems and services. Upon completion of the sale, American Standard will change its name to Trane, the name of its flagship global air conditioning business. Read more.
