ROCKY MOUNT, N.C. - More than 90 firefighters were called to battle a blaze at a small solid wood furniture manufacturing plant September 26.

Firefighters from four departments poured thousands of gallons of water on the blazing 12,600-sq-ft facility, but to no avail. Furniture maker That Place Inc. suffered a total loss. No one was hurt.

It was apparently quite a scene. Firefighters positioned themselves above the building via ladders as the roof had caved in. Fire officials told local media that it was the largest fire the city of Rocky Mount has seen in many years.

Firefighters remained on the scene for most of the day.

That Place Inc. offers solid wood bedroom and home office furniture made from select hardwoods like Pennsylvania cherry and red oak.
