VANCOUVER, BC - West Fraser announced today the appointment of Ted Seraphim as the Company's Executive Vice-President and Chief Operating Officer, effective July 1, 2010. Mr. Seraphim, a Chartered Accountant, joined West Fraser in 1997 and is currently Vice-President, Pulp & Paper. He has over 25 years of experience in the forest products industry, including operations, marketing and sales.
In his new role Mr. Seraphim will be primarily responsible for the successful implementation of West Fraser's operating strategies and plans including the proper allocation of human and other resources.

Our pulp business has made significant improvements under his leadership, including the development of a strong management group.
