Baton Rouge, LA – Comfort Innovations, LLC, and Stine Lumber Company announce that the home improvement chain is reporting immediate sales of GO COOL since adding the portable air conditioner to its product line two weeks ago.
“We sold 5 units in 4 days in one of our stores,” said David Stine, General Merchandizing Manager, “and we haven’t even advertised yet. We anticipate selling 30-40 units during our first ad weekend.” Stine has 10 retail locations in south Louisiana and Mississippi.
Stine’s first GO COOL was sold before the ink was dry on its retailer agreement, and Comfort Innovations’ CEO, Bonnie I. Floyd, was demonstrating the air conditioner to Stine’s management.
“Our first customer was actually an associate here at our corporate offices that just happened to be in the room where Bonnie was demonstrating the product,” said David Stine, General Merchandizing Manager. “The associate purchased it for her mother who sells seafood in a semi-enclosed building with no electricity.”
The portable GO COOL operates using ice and a small amount of water to produce dehumidified air conditioning within a small enclosed space. It’s a new, patented process that doesn’t need exhausting because it doesn’t use chemical coolants. It comes with both a standard electrical and a vehicle lighter receptacle cord, and can be used with a rechargeable battery pack. These make it possible for GO COOL to be taken anywhere air conditioning is needed.
“I believe the market for us will be campers, fishermen and consumers needing relief when power fails them,” Stine related. “It’s a product that has an instant appeal due to the hot weather, and it’s simple [to operate] and easy to understand by the customer. It’s amazing that someone didn’t develop a similar product sooner.”
When asked how the home improvement store decided to start carrying GO COOL, Stine said, “One of our store managers saw information on the internet and asked our corporate office to explore it further. We contacted Bonnie, and she made a personal visit to our offices to explain her product. We loved it immediately.”
“We sell over 10,000 air conditioners in a season and so it was a natural extension of our current product lines. It met a need in the marketplace – portable cooling on demand without the need of electrical power – so it was a natural. We also like to be the first in the marketplace with innovative products in categories we’re expected to have.”
“GO COOL is a great fit for Stine’s customers and we’re very excited that they’re the first home improvement company to offer it to Do-It-Yourselfers and contractors,” commented Bonnie Floyd. “In addition to its sports and outdoor uses, GO COOL is being used in workshops and on construction sites. It can be taken to any hot work environment where people need cooling, whether that work is a hobby or a profession.”
Stine’s has future plans to carry GO COOL’s accessory products such as its Cool Room and rechargeable battery packs. GO COOL also offers a Cool Cape that is used to rapidly cool down athletes or heat stress victims.
GO COOL’s variable temperature thermostat allows automatic cooling between 64° and 82° Fahrenheit. A single load of ice provides 6.5 to 8 hours of dehumidified air conditioning.
