Brad Somberg, president, of B+N Industries, believes the competition has reached a new level of sophistication, noting that the judges were amazed at the level of thought and inspiration that went into this year's entries. "You could see the amount of research and emotion that the students used to recreate the notion of cosmetic makeovers. We are all excited by not only the student's entries but also by the educators that are guiding these students and supporting their visions. Thank you to everyone that embraced this challenge and especially to those that made it to the finals," he says.
The challenge was to design a functional makeover station and include a 3D rendering of the design for judging. As sponsor and presenter of the challenge, Burlingame, CA-based B+N Industries will now work with the students with the top 12 designs to produce prototypes of their designs for display at GlobalShop 2012, where the prototypes will be displayed in booth #4013.
