CHICAGO – June 14, 2010 – Steelcase Inc. (NYSE:SCS), a global office environments manufacturer, today revealed new solutions for its popular, contemporary wood line Elective Elements® 6 along with a new product: FlexFrame™ workwall – at NeoCon 2010, the World’s Trade Fair for Interior Design and Facilities Management. The additional features and new product lend flexibility for private office and open-office planning.
“Today’s workplace is a collaborative, high tech, high-performance environment, which requires modern features to make the workplace smarter and to improve workflow,” said Jim Keane, president, Steelcase Group. “We are adding elements (namely technology) to ensure that our customers can access workplace solutions that are both elegant and practical.”
FlexFrame workwall
FlexFrame workwall represents an exceptional combination of functionality and refined design. A direct result of primary legal industry research, FlexFrame workwall is built from insights reflecting workplace trends such as, increased collaboration, the proliferation of technology and networked work processes. All these trends require that vertical and horizontal spaces in the office are maximized, creating a need for smart systems. Used alone or integrated with other products, FlexFrame workwalls are configurable to create a range of applications from high-tech media spaces to high-density storage walls and everywhere in between, making any private office, collaborative space, or project room work harder. FlexFrame workwalls activate vertical space for storage, display, and technology integration.
FlexFrame workwalls blend with a range of Steelcase products to create spaces which invite collaboration, seamlessly integrate media:scape® and other technologies, and improve workflow through smart storage. Designed by Jorge Pensi in collaboration with Steelcase Design Studio, FlexFrame workwall is pending Cradle to CradleCM, BIFMA level™ and SCS Indoor Advantage™ certification. FlexFrame workwall will be available for first order entry in November, 2010.
