Des Plaines, Ill., April 11, 2011âDuring the Spring 2011 House of Delegates meeting, the National Association of the Remodeling Industry (NARI) named immediate past president Paul Zuch, CR, of Capital Improvements in Allen, Texas, as its chairman of the board and elevated Michael Hydeck, MCR, CKBR, of Hydeck Design Build in Telford, Pa., to the office of president.
As Zuch enters his new position as chair of the Board of Directors, he brings a good enthusiasm with him about the progress made last year and the bright future ahead. âThrough hiring a lobbyist in Washington, a diligent Government Affairs Committee and allied partners, we have effectively connected with key Congressmen to raise issues that face our members,â Zuch says. âNARI leadership is committed to this effort and the other efforts identified in our strategic plan and our newest initiative, collecting remodeling research.âHydeck assumed the role of president after serving as president-elect for the past year. He was regional vice president from 2004 to 2007 and has most recently served on the national board of directors since 2007.
âMy focus this year will be membership development and retention,â Hydeck says. âThe Joint Center for Housing Studies predicts remodeling activity to increase by 3.5 percent in the third quarter of 2011, and I intend to position NARI front and center in the eyes of contractors as our industry gains momentum. At the same time, weâre keep homeowners abreast of new laws and industry trends, and NARIâs resources to help them find a professional contractor.â
