Black Bros. Co. participated in the second annual Discover Manufacturing Career Expo in conjunction with the North Central Regional Betterment Coalition and Illinois Valley Community College. The purpose of the event was to engage approximately 300 high school students in a variety of manufacturing career experiences and create a link between student curriculum and future careers.
We hosted a group of high school students at our facility on October 22 for a plant tour. We provided insight on the various jobs throughout our company along with on-site demonstrations of our large equipment. After the students toured our facility they went to IVCC to visit with a variety of manufacturers in different classrooms, listen to selected keynote speakers, and have lunch before returning to their schools. Black Bros. Co. was one of the eight manufacturers on-site at IVCC. We discussed our company and answered students' questions about college and career readiness.
