LeadsOnline, the nation’s largest online investigation tool, offers a free web-based service for people to keep track of valuable items and information.

LeadsOnline, the online system that works with police across the country to track and recover stolen property, announces Report It, a Citizen Property Inventory System, designed for citizens to keep track of their personal belongings.

Citizens can store serial numbers, item descriptions, pictures, and scans of receipts so that items may be more easily identified in the event of theft or loss. This record may also come in handy when reporting to law enforcement agencies and insurance providers in the event of loss.

Citizens wanting to participate in Report It can register for the free service at https://reportit.leadsonline.com and begin building their personal property inventory list. An unlimited number of any and all types of items can be entered into Report It, along with serial numbers, product descriptions, and more. The information is housed on the Report It secure site and is compiled into a handy report that can be printed for insurance purposes or providing information to police in the event items are stolen.

When an item is sold to a pawn or secondhand shop, the product information is entered the LeadsOnline database and is immediately viewable by participating law enforcement agencies across the country.

illions of items are added to the LeadsOnline database by businesses including second-hand stores, scrap metal recyclers, pawnshops, and Internet drop-off stores across all 50 states. Those records are instantly available to law enforcement agencies, meaning crimes can be solved in seconds, not months. The criminals from escaping detection by selling stolen items in another city cross-checks names of pawn customers against the OFAC SDN list of known terrorists and narcotics traffickers. ach year, LeadsOnline is credited with recovering millions of dollars in stolen goods and solving thousands of crimes and arson. Based in Dallas and led by President and CEO Dave Finley www.leadsonline.com
