George Revington To Serve As 2014 AHFA Chairman

High Point, N.C. - George Revington, CEO of Home Meridian International, based in High Point, N.C., was elected 2014 chairman of the American Home Furnishings Alliance (AHFA) during the group’s 2013 Annual Meeting.

Kevin Sauder, president and CEO of Sauder Woodworking, Archbold, Ohio, moves to first vice chairman, and Kevin O’Connor, CEO of Samson Marketing, High Point, was elected second vice chairman.

Wyatt Bassett, CEO of Vaughan-Bassett, Galax, Va., moves to immediate past-chairman of the Board of Directors. All of the new officers will assume their posts on January 1, 2014.

Executives newly elected to three-year terms on the Board of Directors include: Greg Harden, Harden Furniture, McConnellsville, N.Y.; Fred Henjes, Riverside Furniture, Fort Smith, Ark.; Harvey Hollingsworth, The Natural Light, Panama City, Fla.; Joe Johnston, Johnston Casuals, North Wilkesboro, N.C.; Steve Lehman, Smith Brothers of Berne, Berne, Ind.; Alex Shuford III, Century Furniture, Hickory, N.C.; and Bill Wittenberg, Klaussner Furniture, Asheboro, N.C.

AHFA is based in High Point, N.C., and represents more than 200 leading furniture manufacturers and distributors, in addition to about 150 suppliers to the furniture industry worldwide. AHFA is the residential furniture industry’s only advocate in Washington, D.C., on all legislative and regulatory issues that impact the industry, and its staff and volunteer members lead the development of voluntary environmental, product safety and construction standards for home furnishings. Membership is open to all manufacturers and distributors of home furnishings for the U.S. market.
