Canyon Creek Cabinet Company Donates Food & Cash to Food Bank

Monroe, WA – The employees of Canyon Creek Cabinet Company donated 160 pounds of food and a check for $1,585 to the local Sky Valley Food Bank. Food bank executive director, Neil Watkins, says: “Many families are being impacted by government cuts to their food assistance program, and are finding their shrinking dollars shrinking even more. Thank you for making it possible for us to be there for them with your generosity!”

Every year, Canyon Creek conducts a food drive over the holidays to benefit needy families of Snohomish County, and has been one of the food bank’s largest contributors for over 13 years.

In addition to the food drive, Canyon Creek also made financial donations to the following charities in 2013: Muscular Dystrophy Association, Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, Foundation For Private Enterprise Education (Washington Business Week for students), Monroe Gospel Women’s Mission and Housing Hope. The company also donated custom-built cabinetry to the local Concern for Animals animal rescue office remodel and the Boy Scouts of America Fire Mountain Scout Camp in Mount Vernon, WA.

The company continues to donate usable wood scrap for retraining programs at the local correctional facility and to a local business that makes play kitchens for kids, made entirely of repurposed furniture pieces, recycled wood and other materials.
