Armstrong Cabinets will be featured this Fall in an upcoming episode of the popular DIY Network Show, “10 Grand in Your Hand,” selected by homeowners Doug and Heather Sheehan for their green kitchen renovation: recycled countertops, donating their old cabinets, re-insulating with natural fibers for energy-efficiency and using Armstrong's Origins series with no-added formaldehyde adhesive.
The premise of “10 Grand in Your Hand” is to show real homeowners how to shave up to $10,000 from their renovation or remodeling project. Homeowners are offered advice on new materials and technologies, plus essential how-to info on doing some of the basic work themselves.
The Sheehans made a store visit to Armstrong’s Long Island, NY location to select cabinets. “They saw the Arborcrest cherry door style on display and knew that was exactly what they wanted as soon as they came in,” said Julia Dowd, sales representative. “They offset the cost of the cabinetry by installing it themselves.”
From rustic to casual to contemporary, Arborcrest is a versatile addition while the wide rails and stiles give it true Shaker heritage. Its full overlay door style features solid cherry panels with true Shaker width stiles and rails and five piece drawer fronts. It is available in all cherry finishes.
DIY Network was thrilled with their choice: "We enjoyed working with Armstrong because we knew -- even from a simple glance at the easily navigated and informative website -- that they had the products to make the experience rewarding and the customer service to keep things simple. Not to mention, when we got to the location, we were met with a beautiful showroom that opened our eyes, and more importantly, our homeowners' eyes, to previously unconsidered possibilities," said Heidi Scheuermann, production coordinator, 10 Grand in Your Hand, Boy Wonder Productions.
The Origins line was especially appealing to these green-minded homeowners because the line offers the durability and strength of all plywood construction with the environmental benefits of sustainable, low emitting materials to provide added options when building or remodeling a home or buying cabinetry.
"We truly love our new cabinets from Armstrong. From the color and style to the durability. We were impressed how fast we received our cabinets,” said Heather Sheehan. “Since sustainability was particularly important to us, we love that the construction of the cabinets is very solid, and we were happy to have the option of cabinets made with a formaldehyde free glue.”
“While all Armstrong Cabinet products are a safe and sustainable choice, an Origins cabinet combined with any of Armstrong’s solid wood center panel door styles offers the best available option for projects that require no added urea formaldehyde materials,” said Steve Nash, vice president, Armstrong Cabinets, Sales & Operations. “Aesthetics, function and cost are primary concerns when designing a kitchen and our goal is to present different options so customers can make individual choices with confidence.”
For Armstrong Cabinets, being selected for shows such as this one is all about increasing brand awareness and gaining momentum for its dealers and distributors at retail. With the decline in the housing marketing, remodeling and redecorating are increasing trends—and HGTV and the DIY Network is a primary source of information for consumers in this arena.
