WASHINGTON – The American Forest & Paper Association elected Jim Hannan, CEO and president of Georgia-Pacific LLC, as Chairman of the AF&PA Board of Directors. The AF&PA Board of Directors elected Hannan along with its new slate of officers while meeting today in Washington.
“I am honored to be elected as AF&PA’s Chairman of the Board. The forest products industry makes the necessary products on which people all over the world depend, and provides needed manufacturing jobs to people here at home,” said Hannan. “I look forward to continuing our progress toward achieving an environment that allows our businesses to be productive.”
Jim Hannan has served as Georgia-Pacific’s CEO and President since 2007. A native of Connecticut, he earned a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from California State University, East Bay (formerly California State University, Hayward). Hannan has served as a member of AF&PA’s Board of Directors since 2006.
“We are pleased to welcome Jim Hannan as our new chairman, as his leadership and keen insight will be a great asset in guiding the efforts of our board in addressing the issues on our horizon,” said AF&PA President and CEO Donna Harman. “We have been fortunate to have strong leadership on our board of directors, and this year is no exception. Jim takes over for our Immediate Past Chairman Colin Moseley, who was instrumental in the success we had last year to help our industry succeed. I look forward to working with our board and board officers to continue delivering the results that our industry has come to expect from AF&PA.”
The AF&PA Board of Directors also elected the following members to serve as officers of the board: Doyle Simons of Temple-Inland Inc., as First Vice Chairman; and Alexander Toeldte of Boise Inc., as Second Vice Chairman. Outgoing Chairman Colin Moseley, Green Diamond Resource Company, will serve as Immediate Past Chairman.
