DRUMMONDVILLE, Quebec – Bastien Larouche, who founded Ro-Bois-Tic as a one-man, one-robot cabinet manufacturing operation in 2012, will speak at the 2020 Salon Industriel du Bois Ouvré (SIBO).

Larouche will present a luncheon keynote of his unique operation on Thursday, April 23 at the Centrexpo Cogeco.

Larouche, former plant manager of Teknion, a large-volume office furniture manufacturer, will discuss what inspired him to launch his lights-out cabinet factory to make ready-to-assemble cabinets. He will also present an overview of Ro-Bois-Tic’s flow-through manufacturing line in which his robot partner does everything from placing thermally fused panels on a nested router and sweeping away scrap, to feeding nested parts through an edgebander and drilling and dowel insertion machine.

An entrepreneur by nature, Larouche’s presentation will delve into the key challenges he has overcome, as well as some of the benefits his enterprise has achieved via robotic automation.

Larouche was featured in a February 2013 cover story of Wood & Wood Products, which included a case study of Ro-Bois-Tic’s lights-out operation. Later that same year, the publication honored Larouche as a Wood Industry Market Leader.

SIBO will take place April 23-25 at the Centrexpo Cogeco.
