Ontario woodworking association to present Spray Finishing Training at Conestoga College

KITCHENER, Ontario — The Wood Manufacturing Cluster of Ontario (WMCO) will return to Conestoga College to present Spray Finishing Training. The workshop is scheduled for 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Conestoga College’s Doon Campus Woodworking Centre on July 9. 

The day-long event is best suited for new and experienced spray operators and finishing department management. Training will be led by David Blackler, professor and finishing technologist at Conestoga College.

Agenda:
•  9:00 AM - 12:00 PM - Classroom theory
•  12:00 PM - 1:00 PM - Catered lunch and networking
•  1:00 PM - 4:00 PM - Practical shop training using simulators

Topics include:
•    Pros and cons of HVLP spray equipment and airless-air assist equipment.
•    Review of various stains, sealers and topcoats, and pigmented lacquer.
•    Troubleshooting finishing problems.
•    Quality assurance and process control.
•    Training on a virtual spray system.
•    Adjusting spray guns.
•    Application techniques.

The registration fee is $495 + HST for WMCO members and $995 + HST for non-members. Seating is limited.
