MILTON, Ont. — Members of the Financial Crimes Unit in Ontario have concluded a fraud investigation involving lumber products valued at over $46,000.
Between January 9, 2023, and February 1, 2023, a male suspect purchased lumber from a company in Oshawa. The suspect arranged to have the lumber delivered to two separate commercial locations in Vaughan and Mississauga. Investigation revealed that the credit card data that was used was stolen from four separate victims. The male suspect was identified during the investigation.
On Thursday, March 20, 2025, the suspect was arrested without incident.
Shahbaz Paracha, age 37, is faced with charges of fraud over $5000, possession of property obtained by crime over $5000, and four counts of unauthorized use of credit card data.
He was released on a promise to appear in court on a later date.
