The new jobs portal allows woodworking companies to post help wanted ads to connect with potential candidates.

WoodworkingJobs.ca, a free online recruitment tool for Canadian woodworking companies, was recently launched by a consortium of five industry entities.

The new jobs portal allows woodworking companies to post help wanted ads to connect with potential candidates. A small sampling of the job vacancies recently posted on the website includes:

  • Millwork installer;
  • Cabinetmaker;
  • Spray painter;
  • Estimator/project manager;
  • Architectural sales rep;
  • Cabinet assembler; and
  • Maintenance technician.

WoodworkingJobs.ca was created in collaboration by Wood Manufacturing Cluster of Ontario (WMCO), Woodworking Canada, Architectural Woodwork Manufacturers Association (AWMAC), Canadian Kitchen Cabinet Association (CKCA), and Wood Manufacturing Council (WMC).

“We know how challenging and time-consuming it can be to find the right employee or employer,” says Michelle Morrell national executive director of AWMAC. “The woodworkingjobs job board aims to streamline this process in our industry.”

Adds Sandra Wood, executive director of CKCA, “In this competitive and challenging labour market, it’s important we do all that we can to help our members find the skilled labour they need.”
