A trove of hardwood, plywood, wood components and bedroom furniture-in-progress along with dozens of large woodworking machines will be auctioned at the now-defunct A.P. Industries, whose Quebec plant closed in 2013. The 245,000 square foot Quebec, which closed last year, will be auctioned December 15 on location at Laurier-Station, QC, near Quebec City.
Though much of its equipment originated at Homag Canada, A.P. Industries was far from a single-source technology shopper, operating many brands of equipment at its plant.

Examples of the extensive selection of relatively recent automated equipment on the docket includes sanders from Butfering - an Optimat wide belt sander; a Heeseman four-head widebelt sander; and a Timesavers model 25 three head sander.
Configuration of a DMC Unisand USK four-head 53-inch wide belt sander, acquired in 2006, are typical of the detail offered on the machinery for sale. It includes First head: Crossbelt with Chevron and Segmented Pad, Second Head: Steel Drum, Third Head: Segmented Platen, Fourth Head: Segmented Platen, 52” x 103” Belts.

AP Industries closed suddenly with just a one-day notice to its 150 employees in April 2013. The president of AP Industries, Daniel Benjamin, told local media the . company had been struggling for several years as sales declined, dropping 20 percent in the year before closure. Several restructures and major wage concessions from employees were not enough. AP Industries distributed its furniture across Canada and the United States, in outlets like Sears, and Wayfair.
In addition to the sanders described above, seven CNC machining centers - two Biesse Rover 20s and five Weeke Optimats - a pair of Holzma panel saws, two Brandt and a Homag panel saw, and moulders from SCM and Weinig.

In additional to the machinery, trucks, office equipment, hand tools, etc. are a large quantity of raw materials including particleboard, plywood and hardwood; and furniture hardware including drawer slides, hinges, drawer pulls, etc. Learn more about the AP Industries furniture plant auction>>
