CKCA’s Oct. 15 Zoom roundtable focuses on cyber security issues

OTTAWA, Ontario – The Canadian Kitchen Cabinet Association has scheduled its National Roundtable Discussion #5 – Not a Tech Issue, a Business Issue – for 1:00 p.m. to 2:15 p.m. ET Thursday, Oct. 15.

According to Statistics Canada, in 2017, 21% of Canadian businesses reported that they were impacted by a cyber security incident which affected their operations. Fifty-four percent of the of impacted businesses reported that cyber security incidents prevented employees from carrying out day-to-day work. In addition, 58% of the businesses said they experienced some downtime to networks, desktops, mobile devices, etc. as a result of a cyber security breach.

The session will feature a panel of three experts to discuss how kitchen cabinet manufacturers can safeguard against costly cyberattacks.

Speakers include:

  • Robert Gordon, executive director, Canadian Cyber Threat Exchange;
  • Peter Mate, owner, Planit Canada; and
  • Connie Rowley, account executive, Core Canada Insurance Solutions.
