Canadian furniture gains, wood products dip in most recent report

OTTAWA, Ont. -- Statistics Canada reported that Canadian furniture and related product manufacturing reached $1.007 billion in June, a gain of 0.5 percent over the May figure of $1.002 billion.

Compared to a year ago, sales in June 2017 were 5 percent higher than June 2016’s figure of $958 million.

Canadian wood product manufacturing sales in June were $2.55 billion, down 2.9% compared to May, but up 6.6% above the same month in 2016.

Overall manufacturing sales in Canada fell 1.8% to $53.9 billion in June, following three consecutive monthy gains. See http://www.statcan.gc.ca.
