RFID technology for furniture gets a push at ZOWLUBECKE, GERMANY -- The future of wireless technology that allows the identification of furniture supplier products across the entire supply chain will be featured at ZOW 2012.

Clarion Survey,ZOW's organizer, is teaming up with Abaco Informationsystems to demonstrate the use of integrating RFID chips into furniture products. ZOW 2012 is scheduled to take place February 6-9 in Bad Salzuflen, Germany.

With Abaco's new abatag technology, the RFID chip  no longer has to be located on the outside of the product. For example, an IMA CNC machining center can shoot an abatag into a panel, which is coated afterward. The RFID chip is protected during the product’s entire life cycle and cannot be damaged from the outside, which was the case for glued chips. The new procedure is significantly more efficient than previous procedures, which facilitates a comprehensive use in the supply chain.

Abaco will anchor a ZOW pavilion dubbed, “ZOW 2012 – Supply Chain furniture with RFID” will demonstrate a comprehensive solution for the entire supply chain of furniture manufacturing – from the supplier, to the haulage contractor, to the manufacturer and finally to the end user. Approximately 15 to 20 companies are expected to participate in the special RFID showcase.
