Henjes named new CEO of Riverside FurnitureFORT SMITH, AR — Residential furniture and home office firm Riverside Furniture announced Sept. 1 that current President Fred Henjes will take over as CEO and will also hold a seat on the company’s board.

Henjes succeeds Howard J. "Buddy" Spradlin. Spradlin, had been CEO since February 2001 and will remain chairman of the board.

According to Riverside, Henjes joined the company as a sales representative in 1989 before being promoted to senior vice president of sales and marketing. He became president in March 2010.

Riverside Furniture has been in business since 1946."Fred's knowledge of the industry and his proven sales and marketing skills, combined with his leadership ability, will make him a valuable addition to the board," Spradlin said in a statement. "This appointment, along with his ownership position in the company, should also ensure the future growth and prospects for the company under his direction."
