Wood Design, Inc. receives employee training grant
SANTA FE, N.M. - Wood Design, Inc., a Santa Fe, New Mexico manufacturer of custom cabinetry and millwork for high-end customers in Northern New Mexico, Colorado and Texas, received a grant from the state for educating three trainees, totaling $4,750.
New Mexico has a generous training support effort, the Job Training Incentive Program (JTIP), which funds classroom and on-the-job training for newly-created jobs in expanding or relocating businesses, for up to 6 months.
The program reimburses 50 to 75 percent of employee wages. Custom training at a New Mexico public educational institution may also be covered. The New Mexico State Legislature created JTIP, formerly known as the Industrial Development Training Program, or in plant training, in 1972.
