FDMC 300 recap: Big firms thrive
October 14, 2022 | 4:14 pm CDT

Large producers of cabinets, contract and residential furniture, millwork, and store fixtures that make up the FDMC 300 list are still on a growth trajectory two years into the pandemic.

This marks the 36th year of the FDMC 300 list. This year’s numbers are based on 2021 sales figures, showing these companies’ combined sales reached $62.4 billion. That represents a gain of 7.9 percent over the previous year.

That also marks the 10th consecutive year of sales expansion for the FDMC 300 list of companies, with companies catering to the residential market doing better this year than other segments.

The commercial sector continues to lag in the wake of the COVID 19 pandemic, which had a negative impact on active and planned commercial development.

Some companies, most notably office furniture manufacturers, pivoted to the work from home market. Ongoing supply chain disruption issues were also cited by many firms as affecting their growth.

Here’s how the top five companies in each of the major product categories ranked. The ranking number below reflects their standing within their category. Their FDMC 300 ranking is in parentheses. Asterisk (∗) sales figures are estimates. For the complete listing of the FDMC 300 visit: woodworkingnetwork.com/fdmc-300.
