Texas Woodworking Expo Expands with Solid Surfacing Pavilion

This year's event includes a separate display area and live demonstrations for fabricating solid surfacing materials.

The 2001 Texas Industrial Strength Woodworking Expo & Conference, set for March 29-31 in Arlington, is growing in size, scope and stature.

Overflow demand for exhibit space at the biennial event has prompted the expo's sponsors, Wood & Wood Products and Custom Woodworking Business, to expand display booths into the Arlington Convention Center's newly built Grand Ballroom.

In addition to woodworking machinery and supply exhibits, the ballroom will house a new Solid Surfacing Pavilion stocked with displays of materials and fabricating equipment. Through special cooperation with the International Solid Surface Fabricators Assn., the pavilion will feature live demonstrations of fabrication techniques by a master craftsman.

"Solid surfacing is a natural fit for our show," says Harry Urban, vice president and publishing director of W&WP and CWB. "We know from our publication studies that better than one-third of our readers fabricate solid surfacing materials and that another 10 percent are strongly considering adding solid surface to their product mix."

The third Texas ISW Expo & Conference is building on the success of the 1999 event which attracted 3,000 woodworking professionals and machinery and supply representatives. The 2001 Texas ISW Expo will feature machinery, supplies and services displayed by more than 250 manufacturers and distributors.

The ISW Conference will feature seminars on popular business and technical subjects, including Cost Estimating, Computer-Aided Design, Veneering and Finishing.

The 2001 Texas ISW Expo & Conference will kick off with early-bird seminars on Thursday, March 29 and continue through Saturday, March 31. The exhibit halls will be open on March 30 and 31.
