Learn about new finishing technology and techniques at IWF 2016 Finishing Symposium, August 23, the day before the IWF exhibition starts.

David Jackson of Gemini Industries will describe the characteristics of different finish types, and the pros and cons of each type, and application methods, including catalyzed varnish, low VOC solvent based coatings, waterborne coatings, UV coatings, plural component polyester, 2-component polyurethane.

He will also talk about the development of different interior wood finishes.

Jackson will discuss new technology in finishes and benefits that may be available to early adopters. Specifically, he will talk about developments in two-component polyurethanes, and development in low-VOC solvent-based finishes and multi-components polyester. He will also look at some UV applications, including those for small and medium-sized shops

This special full-day session August 23, the day before IWF 2016, will explore a variety of new technologies and best methods that you can use in your business.

The full-day seminar will include a number of presentations and an opportunity to talk to suppliers and finishing experts face-to-face with your questions. The program is being developed and presented by FDMC and Woodworking Network, and the Centre for Advanced Wood Processing.
