At IWF, bourbon, NFL and collectibles to be sold for Woodwork Career Alliance

ATLANTA - A silent auction to support wood industry education is planned at IWF Atlanta show in partnership with the  Woodwork Career Alliance of North America.
 
Bids can be made at the show's WCA Silent Auction area from 8:00 a.m. until 3:30 p.m. near Room B402 at the Georgia World Congress Center in Atlanta, the site of IWF.  
 
Among items being auctioned to support the Woodwork Career Alliance is this Jack Lambert signed Pittsburgh Steelers football embroidered with NFL Logo Football with the bid starting at $295 and rising in $20 increments. 
 
 
Bidding starts at $245 for a Bourbon Package of Four Roses Single Barrel (list $85) Old Forrester Single Barrel (list at $55) a 1792 Single Barrel (list at $45) an Elijah Craig Single Barrel (list at $36) a Buffalo Trace Single Barrel (list at $30) and a set of 4 Links Rocks glasses (list at $40). 
 
A complete list of the offerings is being posted now, and bids are already being accepted online for a range of collectible sports memorabilia, luxury goods and prizes, including NFL football helmets autographed by a number of players, and framed photos of stars ranging from Babe Ruth, to Marilyn Monroe to the Three Stooges.  
 
Proceeds will benefit the Woodwork Career Alliance. Founded in 2007, the mission of the Woodwork Career Alliance (WCA) is to support workforce development for the woodworking industry. WCA's activities include certification and training of new and existing woodworking professionals, as well as students at both the high school and post-secondary levels. 
 
For the first time, woodworking students and professionals can earn an industry approved and recognized credential based on observable, measurable standards and evaluations. Every participant in the program starts by purchasing a Passport that will record their achievements as they move through the process. Learn more about how it all works

Woodwork Career Alliance Bidding Instructions

Silent auction in-person bidding at the IWF show will close nightly (see signs at auction tables for exact time). Online auction bidding will close Friday, August 24, 2018 
 
Bidding increments are set at a fixed price. You will need to provide your Name, Email, and Phone when you place your bid.
  • Bid online now in the Auction tab or
  • Text your bid to: (608) 480-5169 with the item's three letter code and bid amount (Example: ABC$300)
Payment information will only be requested from winning bids. Winning bids will receive a notification requesting payment information. Winning bids are responsible for payment and item pick up if local and all shipping charges if shipping is needed.
 
The Woodwork Career Alliance is also staging a bandsaw shootout at its Booth #4154.during the course of the show using the Wood-Ed training system from Mimbus, in partnership with Taurus-Craco, which sells the system.
