The 19th HGTV Dream Home is a one-story, three bedroom and three-and-a-half bath Cape Cod-style vacation cottage set on the popular presidential retreat of Martha’s Vineyard. The small Massachusetts island is only accessible by boat or plane.

The 3,200-square-foot dream home was designed by architect Patrick Ahearn who specializes in historical architecture and interior design. Of its many grand features, the walk-in master closet with dressing room is a standout.

Originally Ahearn designed the master closet with an adjacent closet and the entry door to both closets opened from the master hallway. However, HGTV Dream Home interior designer Linda Woodrum suggested opening the space up between the two closets and then have one as a walk-in space and the other as a dressing room. The idea was to give the entire area a more luxurious look and feel.

Closet features include a floor-mounted, white organizing system with crown moulding, double hang shelving and a built-in window seat.

Dressing room furniture was provided by residential furniture manufacturer Ethan Allen, which provided most of the handcrafted furniture and interior decor for the home, including window treatments, upholstery and other accessories.

Like the closet/dressing area, the entire home features an open plan floor. Additional home highlights include dormer windows, twin chimneys, a cupola for light, white cedar shingles and shutters, a 23-foot vaulted great room with vintage solid beam trusses and more.

“This year’s HGTV Dream Home is located in one of the world’s most exclusive dream destinations,” said HGTV Professional Home Planner Jack Thomasson. “We’ve worked with our partners on this home to recognize the architecture and history of Martha’s Vineyard, while building a spectacular HGTV Dream Home that is all about modern living.”

Ethan Allen has partnered with HGTV for its Dream Home series for nine consecutive years. Lumber Liquidators, Sherwin-Williams and Cabinets to Go also are partners for the highly popular Dream Home.

The home is part of a grand prize package offered by HGTV that is valued at over $2 million.
