A hammock is great place to relax and gently sway on a cool evening, or in the shade on a warm afternoon. Unfortunately not all locations allow for a hammock to be safely hung or they come with a portable stand that may not be most pleasing to the eye. This North Carolina mountain top home has amazing uninterrupted 180 degree views of the Blueridge mountains below. This hammock stand has a relatively low profile as to not impede on the view of the mountains beyond. The stand is crafted with genuine reclaimed barn wood to add a refined yet rustic look. The piece can easily be assembled and disassembled to make moving it around to the perfect spot a quick task. The wooden elements that make up the sides have soft and subtle curves that mimic the curves of a hammock that is in use. The hefty, solid side elements have a nylon rope weave that tie the material and look of the hammock itself to the stand that holds it up. I made a youtube video of the build process and talk about what I was thinking while designing and crafting the piece. https://youtu.be/D5CYY-zpEJQ
