Furniture Today Names New Publisher, Dean Horowitz

GREENSBORO, NC – Furniture/Today magazine named Dean Horowitz as Publisher. Horowitz, who had previously been VP e-business at Woodworking Network, replaces Kevin Castellani,who has taken on the full time role of Group Publisher and President for parent company Progressive Business Media.

Furniture/Today says Horowitz will report to Castellani and oversee sales and strategic direction for the Furniture/Today properties.

“For some time now I have worn many hats at Progressive Business Media and as we position Furniture/Today for continued growth it is important to have a focused management structure in place to execute our strategic direction and focus on our clients,” Castellani said. “I have known Dean for many years and we have worked closely together. Dean’s vision and creativity make him the ideal leader to grow the Furniture/Today brand and deliver valuable products and services to the furniture community.”

Horowitz most recently served in executive management roles with Amos Media in Chicago and Vance Publishing, publishers of Woodworking Network, where he oversaw all aspects of the company’s digital platforms, data services and niche communities while working closely with the sales and editorial teams to ensure exemplary product offerings.

Previously, Horowitz spent 17 years with Reed Business Information culminating in his role as General Manager for the Construction and Building Group. Prior to that Horowitz held roles as Director of Online Development, Director of Strategy and Product Development and Group Publisher.

In these roles, Horowitz worked together with Furniture/Today and its sister publications while all were under the Reed umbrella.

As publisher of Furniture/Today Horowitz will work closely with both the sales and editorial teams to establish and execute the company’s strategic vision across the full scope of the brand’s portfolio, which includes the industry-leading weekly newspaper, myriad digital platforms and a growing array of educational events and other content initiatives.

In Castellani’s role as Group Publisher and President he will oversee all eight of the company’s industry-leading publications, support the growth of Progressive Market Research, video and custom content divisions as well as work with all publishers and key clients on strategic planning.
