Ken Kumph, president, Premier Builders (Georgetown, MA)
Ken got his start in construction as a carpenter’s assistant upon graduating from high school. After 2 years in the trade he enrolled Wentworth Institute of Technology in Boston and earned a degree in Building Construction Technology. Working his way thru the trades as a carpenter, finish carpenter and project manager, he started Premier Builders in 1986. Ten years later, in 1996 Ken brought the millwork and cabinetmaking aspects of his projects in house.As president of the company, Ken has an active role in the day to day operations with sales, estimating, and business management although he is currently mentoring his son to fill his role. In the 30 plus years of business, the company has grown to 18 employees and strengthened its presence in the high end residential and commercial interiors markets. As a general contractor, Premier Builders has managed the construction of countless custom homes, large and small remodeling, renovations and architectural millwork projects as well as commercial, office and retail interiors.
Matt Wehner, Co-Owner, Cabinet Concepts by Design (Springfield, MO)
Matt Wehner co-owns and has operated Cabinet Concepts by Design for the last 10 years with his wife Shelley Wehner. Matt attributes his success to always improving the processes, taking care of his employees and above all, taking care of the customer. After earning a BS in math education from Missouri Southern University, Matt started his professional career as a math teacher and coached football and wrestling in Kansas City. After the first year, he knew teaching was not something he wanted to do long term. So, he moved on and joined Edward Jones as an investment adviser, as he enjoyed investing and wanted to help others plan for retirement. Even though his first two career choices were not in the long term plan, the experiences gave him a huge advantage in owning and growing Cabinet Concepts by Design. Matt is an active member of the CMA and is currently serving his second three-year term on the Board of Directors.
Chris Valenti, owner, CK Valenti Designs (Chandler, AZ)
Chris and Kate Valenti incorporated CK Valenti Designs in 2005. Chris has a long history of working with wood, beginning when he was very young. His father, a Union Carpenter in New York, introduced him to the craft; he has continued to build his skills over the years. While pursuing his college education, Chris worked in residential and commercial renovation for high-end homes in Manhattan and surrounding areas in New York. An Electrical Engineer by degree, Chris left the semi-conductor industry to pursue his passion of building beautiful works with his hands.

Engaging with manufacturers, product designers, and industry associations, Les draws upon his industry knowledge to influence product development and business development to better serve the industrial wood market. Les has been a featured speaker at the International Woodworking Fair(IWF),Association of Woodworking and Furnishings Suppliers Fair( AWFS),Woodworking and Machinery Supply Expo(WMS), and the Home Furnishings Manufactures Solutions Expo. He holds a Bachelor of Arts and Science degree from Ohio University.
