LANCASTER, PA -- Are you in the process of launching a woodworking business?   Or, have you been in business for a while and just can't seem to stay on track?  Veteran FDMC editor and renowned speaker, Will Sampson, will address these subjects and more in his presentation, Path to Professionalism, October 18 at Wood Pro Expo Lancaster.  Sampson will share what he has learned from visiting hundreds of shops across North America. He will help you get started on the right foot or get back on track. Topics will include best business practices, efficient production, effective marketing, and secrets some shops don’t learn for decades.

"This presentation is targeted at woodworking businesses starting out and ones that still struggle from time to time," said Sampson.   "We'll explore business fundamentals specifically for woodworking shops with an emphasis on custom work," he said.

Sampson will also present his popular 2018 Pricing Survey as the opening keynote for Wood Pro Expo Lancaster on October 18.  Titled, Solving the Pricing Puzzle 2018, the session will address the perennial pricing issue facing woodworking companies.  Learn if you are you charging the right price for your work.  Sampson takes you inside the results of the 2018 FDMC Pricing Survey for custom woodworking. You’ll learn what other shops charge for the same work, fundamentals of pricing custom work, and common pitfalls to avoid in your pricing process.

In addition to Sampson's presentations, WPE attendees will also hear from The Wood Doctor, Gene Wengert.  Wengert's first presentation, Practical ideas for increasing yield from lumber, will be delivered on October 18. Wengert will also deliver the opening keynote on October 19 in a presentation titled, The Wood Dr. is in.
Wood Pro Expo is a regional show for woodworking businesses bringing suppliers and experts together for a localized presentation of equipment and supply solutions. Launched in 2014 in Baltimore, the show moved in October 2017 to Lancaster, Pennsylvania as an annual event. Following the 2018 Lancaster event, Wood Pro Expo will return to Charlotte on March 6-8, 2019, co-located with the Cabinets & Closets Expo.
