CHARLOTTE - Accurate Technology manufactures nine different ProScale general purpose linear measuring systems. The company will be exhibiting in Booth #110 at the co-located Wood Pro Expo Charlotte/Cabinets & Closets Conference & Expo, March 6-8 in the Charlotte Convention Center.

Models 150, 150G, 250, 250G

These systems are designed for use on machinery (or other applications) requiring an absolute encoder technology, and should be used on machinery that already has linear guideways or controlled linear motion. Models 150 and 250 will work with battery power, while models 150G and 250G will work with a battery or an external power supply. Standard measuring ranges for 150 and 150G are 10, 18, and 24 inches; and for the 250 and 250G, 24, 48, 60, 96, 120, 180, and 240 inches.

Models 190, 290, 390

These systems are designed for use on machinery (or other applications) which do not require absolute encoder technology, and should be used on machinery which already has linear guideways or controlled linear motion. These models will work with a battery or an external power supply. Standard measuring ranges for the 190 are 10, 18, and 24 inches; for the 290, 24, 60, 96, 120, 180, and 240 inches; and for the 390, 24, 60, 96, and 120 inches.

Models 550, 590

These models are general purpose measuring systems with an integrated linear bearing system and should be used on machinery without existing linear guideways. While both are battery powered, model 550 is made using absolute technology, and the 590 is made using incremental technology. Standard ranges are 48, 96, 120, 144, and 192 inches.

The accuracy of the systems is related to the measuring range. The maximum error of any system with a readout up to the 240-inch range is within .010 inches of nominal, at 70 degrees Fahrenheit. Also, the company says all systems and readouts are RoHs compliant (lead free).

The physical length of each system is longer than the measuring range. Extended ranges are available for Models 250 and 290 up to 480 inches total range, and custom ranges are also available for all models. Also, 2D and 3D CAD files are available for all models and readouts.

The company says the absolute measuring systems will not lose position due to signal interruption or power loss, but the incremental technology measuring systems might. The absolute systems are limited to slew rates of 10 inches/second without customization, while the incremental systems are limited to slew rates of 80 inches/second.

While multiple encoders can be used on a single scale, the encoder type must match the scale type as the encoder for each system includes a hard wired cable and each cable is terminated with an over-molded RJ12 connector. Stock cable lengths are 4, 12, 24, 36, 72, 120, 240, and 360 inches long with custom lengths available on request. If a greater distance is required between the encoder and readout, the company suggests that a ProRF transmitter system be used.

The Wood Pro Expo brand comprises a series of strategic regional events, located in key areas throughout the United States where professional woodworkers congregate. Wood Pro Expo features a full day of education and tours followed by two expo days oriented to equipment and supplies focused on the small-to-medium size shops. The educational offering includes CNC basics, employee recruitment, finishing, lean manufacturing, business management, software, and shop safety.

The Cabinets & Closets Conference & Expo is an annual event featuring a full-day conference, plant tour, and exposition, and is dedicated to home remodeling professionals specializing in building kitchen cabinets, closets, and other home storage designs. Scheduled for March 6-8, 2019 at the Charlotte Convention Center, the Cabinets & Closets Conference and Expo will co-locate with Wood Pro Expo, which is held annually in Charlotte.
