SHERBROOKE, Quebec -- Members of AFDICQ, the Association of Manufacturers and Retailers of the Quebec Kitchen Industry, met for the association's 41st annual meeting on November 8-9 at the Delta Sherbrooke. The two-day event kicked off with a tour of Granit Design, a North American leader in manufacturing of stone surface, in nearby Stanstead, Quebec.  The group also toured high-end door manufacturer, Interfonction, in Sherbrooke.  An exhibitor reception concluded Day One.
Topics included software, supplier relationships, and product sourcing.  Attendees also heard from Louis Morissette, entrepreneur, producer, author and comedian.  His presentation was titled, "The Power of Failure."  The evening concluded with a presidential reception and dinner.
The Association of Manufacturers and Retailers of the Quebec Kitchen Industry (AFDICQ) is the only Quebec association representing the kitchen cabinet, bathroom and custom furniture industries. Founded in 1981 from the grouping of two organizations that had common goals, AFDICQ aims to contribute to the success of the specialized industries in kitchen and bathroom cabinetry and cabinetmaking.
AFDICQ now has close to 225 members, including some 100 manufacturers and retailers of kitchen and bathroom cabinets. The work of its manufacturing members represents 75% of the annual Quebec production of the kitchen cabinet industry.
