Upholstery frame workshop coming to North Carolina

CONOVER, N.C. – The 2016 Upholstery Frame Workshop will be held Thursday, November 10th, 2016 in the Community Room at Conover Station, 403 Conover Station SE, in Conover, North Carolina.

The workshop is being organized by N.C. State University Wood Products Extension, Catawba Valley Community College, and MSC.

This one-day workshop offers upholstery industry professionals the opportunity to gain educational information and to network with fellow frame designers, engineers and manufacturers. Most frame makers and upholstery manufacturers have improved their making of frames so much that many companies have reduced inventory and cut manufacturing times for frames while reducing lot sizes. There is no charge to attend this educational and networking event for the upholstery furniture industry.

The 2016 Frame Workshop Topics include updates on CVCC Furniture Academy, CNC equipment, Reports from material vendors, New topics in design software, Growing labor productivity, Improving material yields, Lowering manufacturing costs, CNC tooling, Testing of frames, Integrated upholstery piece design that ties together 3-D modeling to frames + foam + fabric.
