HANNOVER, Germany & MEXICO CITY - The next Magna ExpoMueblera trade fair and its two flagship shows, Magna Expo Mueblera Industrial and Magna Expo Mobiliario e Interiores, will opens its gates from January 17-20, 2018 at the Centro Banamex exhibition center in Mexico City.
Next year marks the 24th time that the Magna Expo Mueblera Industrial showcase for woodworking and timber processing plant, machinery, tools and solutions will be held. It will be co-staged with the international furniture and interior decoration exhibition Magna Expo Mobiliario e Interiores. For the first time, the joint showcase will be run under the sole management of Hanover Fairs México, a subsidiary of the German trade fair company Deutsche Messe AG.
It will return with a fine-tuned trade show layout that clearly demarcates the fair’s two main flagship shows. The Magna Expo Mueblera Industrial and Magna Expo Mueblera Mobiliario e Interiores shows will also benefit having their own tailor-made communications campaigns that reflect the different needs and interests of their respective visitor target groups. 217 exhibitors exhibited on 30,000 square meters (323,000 sq.ft) at this year’s Magna ExpoMueblera. They came from Mexico, Brazil, Columbia, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Turkey and the United States. Next year’s show will feature the first-ever German national pavilion, which is organized by the German Federal Minister for Economic Affairs and Energy.
Jürgen Köppel, the CEO of German company Leitz and President of the European Federation of Woodworking Machinery Manufacturers (EUMABOIS), on the Mexican market and the restructure of Magna ExpoMueblera: “The current global economic climate is excellent and, in our industry, the US and China are still the main growth drivers. However, we are also seeing strong growth coming from small and mid-sized markets, such as Mexico. In 2016, Mexico was ranked the world’s 12th largest furniture producer and in recent years the country’s domestic market has enjoyed double digit growth. These sorts of figures highlight the great potential Mexico harbors for our members.
We at Eumabois are very pleased about the recent changes in Mexico’s trade fair sector because for us and the members of the national industry associations we represent it’s important to have strong trade fairs in our key markets around the world – trade fairs that allow us to showcase our solutions in the best-possible environment. Deutsche Messe AG, which organizes the world renowned LIGNA fair, is one of our strongest partners, which is why we welcome its investment in Mexico. Deutsche Messe’s professionalism is already clearly evident in the lead-up to next year’s show. A good example of this is the clear delineation between the respective exhibits of the Magna Expo Mueblera Industrial showcase for woodworking and timber processing plant, machinery, tools and solutions and the Expo Mueblera Mobiliario e Interiores furniture and interior decoration exhibition. A clearly-defined tradeshow concept and a clean separation of the two constituent flagship shows is very important for us and, more importantly, the trade visitors. Maximizing value for a show’s target audience is what it should be all about after all.”
Deutsche Messe has the global networks and quality contacts needed to make a success of Magna ExpoMueblera, thanks to its established event portfolio, which includes DOMOTEX, the world’s leading trade fair for carpets and floor coverings, and LIGNA, the world’s leading trade fair for wood industry machinery, plant and equipment. Christian Pfeiffer, Deutsche Messe’s Global Director LIGNA and Woodworking Events: “Magna ExpoMueblera’s new, transparent structure strengthens all of its main display areas. This, in turn, will boost the fair’s appeal to exhibitors from outside Mexico and reinforce the show’s position as the country’s number one trade fair in this sector.”
