ATLANTA -- Arauco North America is the recipient of a 2017 Forest Stewardship Council Leadership Award for investing approximately $400 million in a new FSC-certified particleboard mill in Grayling, Michigan, along with its nine other certified mills in North America, with a goal of 100 percent FSC-certified or recycled inputs for forest products by 2020. The award was announced at Greenbuild.

Arauco is among 16 organizations and individuals to earn this year's leadership awards from the FSC, the world's leading forest certification system.

Arauco wood products are FSC chain of custody certified and available as FSC Mix Credit (FSC-C019364; FSC-C116012).

Arauco produces composite wood panels at nine mills across the United States and Canada, and imports Arauco plywood, pulp, moulding, lumber and other products through 12 major ports. These products are distributed to more than 2,800 destinations throughout North America. In late 2018, ARAUCO will open its 10th mill, at a new particleboard facility in Grayling, Michigan. The Grayling operation will be the largest "continuous" single-line particleboard press in North America. See http://www.arauco-na.com.
