NEW YORK — The Lviv Furniture Cluster, a collective of Ukraine’s premier furniture designers and manufacturers, debuted at the prestigious Boutique Design New York (BDNY) 2024 event. BDNY 2024 is a showcase for boutique hotel design, gathering designers, architects, hoteliers, developers, and purchasing agents from across the globe. The Lviv Furniture Cluster’s participation marked a significant step forward in its mission to elevate Ukrainian furniture design and manufacturing internationally, introducing its members’ visionary work to the Americas and global markets.
The Lviv Furniture Cluster has become an example for growth in Ukraine’s furniture industry, leveraging the Lviv region’s timber resources and skilled craftsmanship. In Western Ukraine, an area known for its natural resources and cultural heritage, the cluster unites manufacturers, educational institutions, and industry stakeholders to support innovation, sustainability, and global competitiveness.
With support from USAID, the cluster extends its reach nationwide, promoting SMEs through shared resources, mentorship, and international exposure at prominent exhibitions. This collaboration enables Ukraine’s furniture sector to navigate trade complexities, access new markets, and compete globally, particularly in the European Union. Through workforce development, export promotion, and a unified industry presence abroad, the cluster empowers local businesses, strengthens supply chains, and enhances educational opportunities, paving the way for sustained, strategic growth in Ukraine’s furniture industry.
Representing the resilience and talent of Ukraine’s design community, the cluster seeks to position itself as a trusted partner for high-quality, eco-conscious, and sophisticated furniture solutions for the boutique hospitality sector.
“Participating in BDNY offers us a powerful platform to demonstrate the excellence of Ukrainian craftsmanship,” said Oksana Straz, deputy head of the Lviv Furniture Cluster and Coordinator of International Projects. “Our mission is to showcase our collective strengths and initiate meaningful connections within the U.S. hospitality market, inspiring new partnerships and fostering lasting international collaborations.”
