Watson Furniture’s C9 system is an open plan workstation featuring a desk and a power rail system that works off the grid of traditional linear planning.
The desk and rail system can be optimized to match changing needs, whether that is collaboration, individual work, density, or social distancing.
To imagine a new furniture system, Watson explored the open plan for insights. While the open plan works some of the time, privacy and focus are diminished. They studied enclosure and openness to understand how they influence individuals and teams. The result is a workstation that departs from the restrictive grid of traditional linear planning.
