Atlanta, GA – IWF 2012 will feature the latest in the line of powerful Mastercam machining software. Stop by booth # 4715 at the Georgia World Congress Center, Atlanta, GA, August 22-25 for a look at Mastercam X6 Router, the latest release, which introduces significant new capabilities, including new stock models, 64-bit support, 2D Contour Smoothing, and so much more.

Accurate, fully-associative Stock Models

A precise machining stock model delivers a variety of benefits—viewing and verifying work as it progresses, performing stock model comparisons, and easily choosing existing stock for rest machining. Mastercam gives you the power to create accurate, fully-associative stock models at any point in your machining process.

64-bit Support

Mastercam is now available as a 64-bit application, which lets you take full advantage of your 64-bit hardware and operating systems.

2D Contour Smoothing

In Mastercam X6 Router, the 2D Contour toolpath now creates smooth motion in sharp corners. Removing sharp corners reduces tool wear and makes your tool motion more efficient. Corner smoothing also supports multi passes.

Other X6 Router Features

Also in Mastercam X6 Router are features and enhancements such as:

• Ability to take .DWFx files from Autodesk.

• The OptiRest toolpath performs Rest Milling operations to remove remaining material with optimized roughing motion. This powerful new toolpath can use the new stock model functionality for defining stock removal areas.

• Variable Toolpath Radius automatically adjusts the toolpath radius in areas that are too narrow to fit into. This allows the tool to fit into tight areas and cut deeper in sharp corners.

• Outside Approach Control – Dynamic Facing, Core, and Contour toolpaths include the ability to specific which side of the block the tool approaches from. You can avoid over-travel conditions when large parts might be taking up most of the travel in one direction.
