Drawer Box Specialties Expands Its Custom Component OfferingORANGE, CA - Drawer Box Specialties (DBS) has launched a stocking inventory program of pre-cut wood component parts.

Items now stocked in the DBS warehouse include various pre-finished veneer- and melamine-faced cores in common shelving dimensions, uprights for closet or pantry installations, cabinet components for lower and upper cabinets, drawer side blanks, and some wainscoting items.

"Having stock of these components on our floor, available for immediate shipment, is an option that we think can help our customers manage some of the workflow coming through their shops," says Jim Irving, DBS sales manager.

Drawer side blanks, for example, are offered in eight foot lengths, 1/2", 5/8" and 3/4" thickness and widths from 3-1/2" through 24" and either edgebanded or bullnosed, and with or without a kerf for a drawer bottom. Cores include veneer, ApplePly and Baltic birch. Maple, oak, cherry and birch veneers are offered, as well as a combination of maple and aromatic cedar.

“We are not looking to build cabinets," says Mike Taylor, president of DBS and States Industries, but to "assist our customers by providing value added components to assist them in increasing their profits.” States Industries LLC, which manufactures hardwood plywood and specialty panel products, acquired Drawer Box Specialties was acquired by States Industries in December 2012. The companies operate from a combined manufacturing base of 200,000 square feet, including a pre-finish line and custom color lab on site.
