I am a COMPLETE newb, so if this is a dumb question, please forgive me. I need a 9ft conference table, however, they are EXPENSIVE. I currently have a 12ft conference table. Is it possible to saw 1.5' off of each end and then remove the legs, sand it down, stain to the color I want and add metal legs? Or would it just fall apart?
