This hidden feline passageway of plainsawn walnut in a luxury his-and-hers master closet was created by Lanham, MD-based Closet America.

According to Skip LaBella, president of Lanham, MD-based Closet America, the closet remodel was quite a memorable project.

The Closet America design team built the closets from hand-selected plainsawn walnut flitches laid-up on 3/4-inch MDF.  A valence was used to conceal uplighting at the top of the units, and doors to conceal (and provide access to) the cat tunnel.

LaBella, a serial business award winner, has been named a Wood Industry Market Leader by Woodworking Network magazine. Closet America has appeared in the WOOD 100 list of top woodworking companies numerous times and it has earned an Angie’s List Super Service Award for several years; received a Guildmaster Award for Service Excellence as well as several Best of Houzz - Service recognition, registering the highest client satisfaction in the Houzz community.

“Since an early age, I’ve always possessed the entrepreneurial spirit,” says Skip LaBella, president of Closet America. “I knew I wanted to grow a company, build and invest in the employees, and provide the foundation to make it successful. The opportunity to enter this industry presented itself to me, and it seemed like a natural fit.“

Most recently LaBella was the lead-off speaker at the 2015 Cabinets & Closets Conference in Chicago, and was named Market Leader in the 2014 recognition program by Woodworking Network.
