MARKHAM, ON - Flakeboard, a manufacturer of particleboard and MDF, has added Wurth Wood Group to its distribution network.

Wurth, based in Charlotte, is a full-line distributor of board products, hardware and accessories used to make cabinets, fixtures, millwork and other wood products. Wurth Wood Group operates 12 branch locations covering the southeastern United States. The branches will offer Flakeboard's MDF, particleboard and thermally fused laminate (TFL) products.

Wurth Wood Group is a division of the Wurth Group, headquartered in Künzelsau, Germany. The Würth Group consists of more than 400 companies in more than 80 countries and has more than 65,000 employees. The company's world-wide operations generated total sales of EUR 5 billion in the first six months of 2012.

Flakeboard was purchased earlier this year by Arauco, a  Chile-based forest products company, for $242.6 million.
