Tafisa Canada Recognized For Recycled Content In PanelsLAC-MEGANTIC, QC –Tafisa Canada, owner and operator of North America’s largest particleboard and decorative panel manufacturing plant, was recently recognized for its environmental achievements by two separate organizations.

Both awards honored Tafisa's Rewood program. Rewood increased post-consumer recycled wood fiber material in its panel production, allowing the company to recycle the equivalent of two million trees a year in diverted wood.

Tafisa was chosen from over 35 companies as one of three finalists for the prestigious Phenix Award. The award recognizes organizations that demonstrate excellence in environmental protection and sustainability.

Additionally, 14-year Tafisa employee Sylvain Martel was awarded the Gino Mastro Award for his contribution to the development of the Rewood project. Named after entrepreneur and environmentalist Gino Mastrogiusepp, the Gino Mastro Award is given to individuals who push the boundaries of environmentalism.
