PORTLAND, OR - Hammer & Hand and bright designlab announced the launch of a new line of modern kitchen cabinets designed and built in Portland, Oregon. The IMBUE cabinet line fuses European styling and local craft to create streamlined, modern kitchen cabinets.

"IMBUE fills the niche for a custom tailored, integrated kitchen cabinet system both locally and regionally," said Alissa Pulcrano, co-owner of bright designlab. "For Oregonians there just hasn't been a line of this caliber accessible close by. And for design aficionados located elsewhere in the country, a Portland entry was missing from the high design cabinet realm."

IMBUE is the latest creation to emerge from Portland's hotbed of product design and development, a community that includes both giants like Nike and emerging innovators like Ziba, Renovo Hardwood Bicycles and many more. Cross-disciplinary collaboration fuels the creative engine of this scene, and IMBUE is no different, with its joint development by designer and builder.

"IMBUE was born of rigorous collaboration between the designers at bright designlab and the builders at Hammer & Hand," said Daniel Thomas co-owner of Hammer & Hand. "These new kitchen cabinets embody both the creative dynamism of Portland and age-old traditions of artisanship and craft."

The scope of IMBUE is flexible. The IMBUE team can design and build a kitchen from scratch or can incorporate IMBUE cabinets into an already developed plan. A wide palette of finishes allows clients to select their cabinet "personality". While the line is built in Portland, the cabinets are readily shipped to projects up and down the West Coast. The line can be viewed online or in person at the Retail Studio in Portland's Pearl District.

"We're obsessed with details of design and precision craft," said Thomas. "So when we developed IMBUE we set out to create the kitchen cabinets that we would want in our own homes."
