Spirit of Carnival Infuses Uniboard's RIO Launch

LAVAL, QC -- UNIBOARD, a North American leader in engineered wood products, last night unleashed the glitzy spirit of Rio de Janeiro's Carnival at local Montreal restaurant Chez Ma Grosse Truie Chérie. The private cocktail event celebrated the launch of Uniboard's RIO and Hi-Gloss thermofused melamine surface textures.

Clients were fêted with Brazilian hors d'oeuvres, drinks, samba music and, of course, a glittering parade of carnival dancing, plus given a chance to win a trip for two to Rio itself. The event formed a unique showcase for Uniboard's new and unique finishes of thermofused melamine panels: RIO and Hi-Gloss. It also featured a fresh color palette dedicated to kitchen design, themed around the bright, sun-drenched hues of Brazil.

"We wanted to surprise our customers while giving them a 'wow' experience and I think we succeeded quite spectacularly," says Susan Doherty, Uniboard's Product Manager. "The new textures fit in with today's trends, yet possess a strong staying power that will brighten kitchens for years to come."

Unlike other finishes available on the market, the RIO finish is a unique 3D linear brushed wood finish created in partnership with Olon Industries, the leading North American supplier of profile-wrapped doors, drawer and accessory mouldings. ''Using our perfect match technology, we created a beautiful TFM finish to match Olon's polyester molding and 5-piece door co-products," said Doherty. ''Our Hi-Gloss is a unique thermofused melamine finish in North America and is a Uniboard exclusive".

The launch of these finishes further strengthens Uniboard's market position in setting the standard in innovation and design and its commitment to its customers.
